MoneySmarts peer educator Stephen Salisbury.
Stephen Salisbury: I am now in my senior year at IU South Bend. I will graduate in May with a B.S. in economics and will also have completed a double major in sociology. I am also serving this year as the President of the Student Body and Student Government Association at IU South Bend as well as Editor-in-Chief of the Undergraduate Research Journal. I have had my work published in two student publications at IU South Bend; the Undergraduate Research Journal and New Views on Gender. I have also won awards for business writing and socialogy research at the IU South Bend Undergraduate Research Conference. This past year, I won the Women and Gender Studies Writing Award. the Ariela Royer Scholarship in Sociology, and the George Wing Memorial Scholarship in Economics and Finance, and was named the sole winner of the Chad Pearson Memorial Scholarship which is given to a student who demonstrates service to others and who intends to pursue a career in human services, public service, or education. This past summer, I also worked as an undergraduate researcher in the economics department at the University of Notre Dame. This is my second full year with the MoneySmarts program as a Peer Financial Educator, but I havve also served IU South Bend's campus as a peer mentor in First Year Seminar and the Judd Leighton School of Business and Economics. I also work as a Math, Science, Business, and Statistics tutor both at the university and privately.
